Coastal day to myself last weekend: found my first sweet violets, picked pepper dulse, and some early St George’s mushrooms, then watched the sun go down with a fire in the beach cooking a roadkilled wild mallard for my dinner, making wild-spiced duck, cherry & mango skewers, spit-roasting the legs and hot-stone-baking a breastfeeding too, with Whitby crab mayo on toast to start ♡
