Hens of the woods! Had a fantastic day with these fabulous ladies on Saturday. Roxi booked a wild food day with me as a surprise for her sister and bride-to-be Mel, who’s been hinting for months that she’d absolutely love to go foraging! We started with the hedgerow habitats, had a picnic under an oak tree in the glorious autumn sunshine then a woodland walk looking for funky fungi, followed hands-on meal prep over rosehip bellinis, making creamy wild mushroomy pasta with chestnuts, ground elder and all the edible ‘shroomery we’d collected, and a hogweed seed-spiced blackberry & elderberry cake, all gluten-free and rather tasty. That’s for having me girls, it was awesome. Wishing you all the best for the big day and for the happy couple as they start this new chapter of their lives together ♡ 🙂
