I love my black elder tree ♡ she’s just coming into full bloom and smothering my garden entrance but I don’t care!
This is a cut-leaf, black foliage variety called ‘black lace’ and this one’s about 11 years old now (and been hacked back every year too!), my favourite tree in my garden along with my purple corkscrew hazel… I have a real thing for dark-leaves plants! ♡
If I have time today I’ll start off something gloriously elderflowery to delight my foraging walk groups at Ballantrae Festival of Food & Drink next weekend, not sure what yet ?
But right now, the one part of the day when the sun floods my tiny garden, coffee and phone photos is the way to enjoy it ♡
