Join us on a walk through various habitats as we walk along a section of the beautiful River Itchen. I’ll introduce you to fantastic edible plants and fungi as we come across them, teaching you how to identify these edibles and medicinals for yourself and how to tell them apart from the nasties. The walk is about 4 hours, fairly slow-paced as we stop regularly to look at things and is over mostly flat terrain.
We’ll be able to taste some things raw as we go round, and will gather at the end to cook up some of what we’ve found as well some wild nibbles, tipples, cheeses, chutneys, syrups, sweet treats and to brew some wild tea. You can also look through my books and learn to identify finds for yourself as well.
The exact location of the walk will be emailed to you after booking. Children are very welcome and must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times. There is no lower age limit, I leave it up to parents to judge whether their child can manage to walk a mile or so over the 3 hours and follow safety instruction.
Booking is secured on payment. Tickets are: £30 adult, £25 NUS, £8 child (age 8 or over), child 7 or under goes free. I also do a family ticket £70 (2 adults, 2 older kids). For more information see my website: www.eduliswildfood.co.uk/courses
